WiBE Committee Members


Meet the women who run and organise WiBE and our events in their spare time.
The committee members come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and represent many different disciplines from the Built Environment. 

Madeline Tucker

Madeline is the Chair of WiBE, and took over in 2018 following Alice and Jackie's retirement from the committee. 

Madeline is a Surveying Director at Stirling Ackroyd, focusing on residential surveys and valuation in Norfolk and Suffolk. Her past experience includes the valuation of residential, commercial and development property for secured lending and private clients along with commercial agency and Landlord & Tenant work. 

Madeline graduated from the University of Estate Management in 2011 with an Honours Degree in Estate Management. She is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Registered Valuer.

Nicola Curle

 

Nicola is Vice Chair of the Women in the Built Environment (WiBE) association, supporting networking and professional development for women in the real estate industry. She has been a member of the WiBE steering group since 2018 and actively promotes networking, knowhow and social events in Norfolk - supporting and celebrating the success of women in the development sector.


Nicola is a lawyer and Partner at Birketts specialising in development sector projects, particularly housebuilder work. She has over 20 years of experience of site acquisitions and disposals to deliver both residential and commercial development. Nicola has extensive experience in tackling development constraints. Nicola also has a wealth of experience of publicly funded development projects for local authorities and education institutions to assist clients in creating new facilities and buildings for community benefit.



Jerene Irwin
 
Jerene is a Chartered Architect and Director at local multidisciplinary practice, Chaplin Farrant. She specialises in community projects for the public sector and education, regeneration, and education projects. She is a people focused architect and enjoys working with existing buildings, reshaping them alongside the communities they serve for the next generation while improving social outcomes and regeneration of local high streets.

Jerene is the Treasurer for, and a previous president of, RIBA Norfolk. She is the current Chair of RIBA East which is the Regional RIBA branch covering East Anglia. She is a founding Trustee of Construction east, a local charity set up to bring more people into the construction industry, building visibility of the sector and encouraging diversity and opportunities. Jerene has been involved with WiBE since the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed going to events and in 2024 got the chance to be part of the steering committee.
 

 


 
 

 
Jurgita Margelyte

Jurgita became a member of Women in the Built Environment in August 2024. Jurgita joined M Brock in 2019 after many years working in Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils to lead business development and marketing for the privately owned construction supply chain company.
Jurgita has an extended knowledge and experience of working in varied environments and transfers her holistic approach to networking within business communities and prides herself in connecting people.

Jackie and Alice were part of the marvellous group of women who came together to form WiBE. They stepped down from the steering committee in June 2018, but they will still be around at our events!
